Step-by-step instructions for deploying Pashu.AI sensors, onboarding your herd, trading carbon credits, and troubleshooting bio-sensing equipment.

GUIDE 01

Setting up your Smart Tag

Deploy Pashu.AI's IoT-enabled Smart Tags on your cattle in under 15 minutes per animal.

1

Download the Pashu.AI App

Install the Pashu.AI mobile app from the Google Play Store. Sign in with your registered phone number and verify your farm profile. The app works on any Android phone running version 8.0 or above.

2

Charge & Activate the Tag

Each Smart Tag comes pre-charged for first use. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the green LED blinks twice. The tag enters pairing mode automatically and remains discoverable for 5 minutes.

3

Pair via Bluetooth

Open the Pashu.AI app and tap 'Add New Tag'. Your phone will scan for nearby devices. Select your tag from the list — it will appear as 'PASHU-XXXX'. Tap to pair. The tag will beep once when connected successfully.

4

Attach to the Animal

Secure the Smart Tag to the animal's ear or collar using the provided clip. Ensure it sits snugly but does not pinch. The tag is waterproof (IP67 rated) and can withstand rough conditions. Once attached, the tag begins transmitting health data every 30 seconds.

5

Verify Data Stream

Return to the app dashboard. Within 2 minutes, you should see live readings for body temperature, movement patterns, and rumination activity. If data doesn't appear, move closer to the animal and tap 'Refresh'. Your Smart Tag is now operational.

Pro Tips
  • Keep tags charged above 20% — low battery reduces transmission frequency.
  • Clean the sensor surface monthly with a damp cloth for accurate readings.
  • Tags have a 2km range in open fields; range drops to 500m inside enclosed sheds.
GUIDE 02

Onboarding your Herd

Register every animal with a digital identity — photo, breed, health history — all stored on the Pashu.AI ledger.

1

Photograph Each Animal

Open the Pashu.AI app and navigate to 'Herd Management' → 'Add Animal'. Take a clear photo of the animal's face and body from both sides. The AI will automatically identify the breed with 92% accuracy and estimate age within ±3 months.

2

Enter Basic Details

Fill in the animal's name or tag number, approximate date of birth, gender, and current weight. If you have vaccination records or past health data, upload them here. The more history you provide, the better Pashu.AI's predictions become.

3

Link Smart Tag (Optional)

If you have a Smart Tag deployed, link it to this animal's profile by scanning the tag's QR code. This connects real-time sensor data (temperature, activity, rumination) to the animal's health record automatically.

4

Organize into Groups

Categorize animals into groups — milking cows, dry cows, calves, bulls, pregnant animals. This helps Pashu.AI send targeted health alerts and breeding recommendations specific to each group's needs.

5

Verify & Sync

Review all entries and tap 'Sync to Ledger'. Each animal receives a unique Digital Identity (DID) recorded on the blockchain. This DID follows the animal through its entire lifecycle — breeding, health events, marketplace listings, and carbon credit allocation.

Pro Tips
  • Photograph animals in natural daylight for best breed detection accuracy.
  • Update weight records monthly — Pashu.AI uses weight trends to flag health issues.
  • You can bulk-import herd data from Excel spreadsheets via the web dashboard.
GUIDE 03

Trading Carbon Credits

Monetize your sustainable farming practices through blockchain-verified carbon credits on the Verdant marketplace.

1

Register for the Carbon Program

Navigate to 'Marketplace' → 'Carbon Credits' in the app. Complete the enrollment form with your farm size, herd count, and current farming practices. You need a minimum of 5 cattle and 2 acres of land to participate in the program.

2

Establish Your Baseline

Pashu.AI's IoT sensors measure your farm's current methane emissions, manure management practices, and feed efficiency over a 30-day baseline period. This data creates your starting benchmark against which all improvements are measured.

3

Implement Sustainable Practices

Follow Pashu.AI's recommendations to reduce emissions: switch to improved feed additives (reduces methane by 15-20%), set up biogas digesters for manure, adopt rotational grazing patterns. Each practice has a verified impact score tracked by our sensors.

4

Earn & Accumulate Credits

As your farm's emissions decrease below the baseline, you earn carbon credits automatically. One carbon credit equals 1 ton of CO₂-equivalent reduction. Average Indian dairy farms earn 2-4 credits per month, valued at ₹500-800 each on the global market.

5

Trade on the Marketplace

Once credits are verified (typically within 7 days), they appear in your 'Carbon Wallet'. You can sell them directly on the Verdant marketplace, set a minimum price, or opt for auto-sell at market rate. Payments are deposited to your linked bank account within 48 hours.

Pro Tips
  • Biogas digesters can double your carbon credit earnings compared to basic practices.
  • Credits are verified by third-party auditors quarterly — keep your sensors calibrated.
  • Join a cooperative to pool credits and negotiate bulk pricing with international buyers.
GUIDE 04

Bio-Sensing Troubleshooting

Common issues with Pashu.AI sensors and step-by-step fixes to get your monitoring back online quickly.

1

No Data / Offline Tag

If a tag shows 'Offline' in the app: (1) Check battery level — charge if below 10%. (2) Move within 500m of the gateway hub. (3) Press the tag's reset button (small pin-hole on the back) for 5 seconds. (4) Re-pair via Bluetooth if needed. Most offline issues are due to the animal wandering out of range.

2

Inaccurate Temperature Readings

Temperature readings can drift if the sensor surface is covered with mud or hair. Clean the contact area with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Ensure the tag is positioned against the skin, not on top of thick fur. Calibration resets automatically after 10 minutes of clean contact.

3

False Health Alerts

Occasional false alerts occur during the first 48 hours while Pashu.AI learns each animal's baseline patterns. If alerts persist: (1) Verify the animal's breed and age are correctly entered. (2) Check that the tag is securely attached and not loose. (3) Tap 'Recalibrate' in the animal's profile settings.

4

Gateway Hub Connectivity

The gateway hub needs stable internet (Wi-Fi or 4G SIM). If the hub shows a red light: (1) Check your internet connection. (2) Power cycle the hub — unplug for 30 seconds, then replug. (3) If using SIM, ensure you have active mobile data. The hub supports up to 200 tags simultaneously within a 2km radius.

5

Still Need Help?

If none of the above fixes resolve your issue, contact our technical support team. Call 789-10-11-401 (available 7 AM – 10 PM IST) or send a WhatsApp message with your tag ID and a photo of the issue. Our field technicians can also visit your farm — free for the first year of your subscription.

Pro Tips
  • Update the Pashu.AI app regularly — firmware patches fix most sensor bugs.
  • Keep the gateway hub elevated (1.5m height) and away from metal structures for best range.
  • During monsoon, check tag clips weekly — moisture can loosen the ear-clip attachment.
